Kingswell Transport is committed to providing transport that is safe, respectful, reliable and appropriate to the individual passenger. For specialist transport, safeguarding is considered throughout journey planning and delivery.
Person-centred journey planning
- We seek information reasonably required to understand the passenger's journey and support needs.
- Arrangements are planned around agreed collection points, destinations and timings.
- Relevant information is communicated to authorised personnel where needed for consistent support.
- Changes to arrangements are communicated through the appropriate commissioning or family contact.
Safeguarding concerns
Concerns involving abuse, neglect, exploitation, inappropriate conduct, a missing passenger or immediate safety will be taken seriously and escalated through the appropriate safeguarding route.
Where there is an immediate risk to life or serious harm, emergency services will be contacted where appropriate.
Professional boundaries
Transport personnel are expected to maintain professional boundaries, treat passengers with dignity and respect, avoid inappropriate communication or contact, and follow safeguarding and operational requirements applicable to their role.
Passenger information
Only information necessary for safe and appropriate service delivery should be shared. Sensitive information should be handled through agreed secure channels and accessed only by those who need it.
Incidents and concerns
Operational incidents and safeguarding concerns should be recorded and escalated in accordance with applicable service arrangements. Commissioning organisations will be notified where required by the relevant contract, safeguarding procedure or law.
Working with commissioners
For council, school, college or other commissioned services, Kingswell Transport will work within the safeguarding, incident-reporting and information-sharing requirements set out in the relevant contract and service specification.
